The Queen’s Commonwealth Green Canopy is a unique tree planting initiative, created to mark H.M. the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
The Friends of Oaks Park and Sutton Council have supported this project and created our own legacy for Oaks Park.
We have planted our own Jubilee Copse in the main body of the park. It has been planted principally with English native trees such as hornbeam, elm and beech and also includes trees such as Field Maple and Cherry.
Individuals and groups have sponsored the trees or contributed to one of our community trees. This has been done in memory of someone, or just to give something back to our beautiful park.
49 trees have been sponsored, and we have just started a waiting list for those who would be interested in planting further mature trees in the park. We are developing a new project and details of that will be available shortly.
If you want to know more or would like to contribute to one of our community trees, please email us at: friendsofoakspark@gmail.com
